We are a long term residential facility for children with special needs. We are looking for caregivers to perform direct care duties to our residents in the area of activities of daily living, i.e. bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, etc.

Summary: Responsible for safely, timely and accurately caring for our medically fragile children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows all protocols and procedures to properly and safely care for residents.
Performs direct care duties to residents in the area of activities of daily living.
Care for residents by bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, etc.
Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age groups.
Comforts patients by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception.
Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive. Offers blankets, checks modesty and only engages in appropriate conversation involving patients.
Check and change diapers when needed.
Alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and OLTC.
Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient’s rights policy as outlined in the facilities HIPPA policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
· Must be detail orientated
· High School Diploma or GED
· One year in experience in a healthcare setting preferred
· CNA license is a plus
Able to squat, bend, and lift on a regular basis
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Excellent communication skills
· Impeccable organization and time management skills
Must be able to pass State/Federal/Child Maltreatment background checks.
Part time shifts available:
- Mon-Fri 9am-2pm (25 hrs per week)
- Sat & Sun 6:00am-6:30pm (24 hrs per week)
- Sat & Sun 6:00pm-6:30am (24 hrs per week)
Full time shifts available:
- Mon-Fri 6:00 am-2:30 pm
- Mon – Fri 2:00pm-10:30pm
- Mon – Fri 10:15pm – 6:45am (overnight)
- Overnight Weekend Plus
Please note: Orientation schedule consists of two mandatory dates (usually on a Tuesday and Wednesday – 8AM TO 5PM both days). THIS IS NOT A FLEXIBLE TRAINING SCHEDULE.
